Supply Chain, Logistics & Distribution

While the terms "supply chain" and "logistics" are sometimes used interchangeably, there are clear distinctions between them, as well as differences in how activities are allocated within the market.

The supply chain encompasses a broad range of activities, including planning, material sourcing, labor management, and facilities management, all aimed at producing and delivering specific goods and services. Logistics, on the other hand, is a component of the supply chain. It focuses specifically on the efficient movement of goods, services, and related information from their point of origin to their point of consumption.

Both supply chain and logistics are crucial to distribution, which involves making a product or service available to the consumer or business user who needs it. Distribution activities are often governed by exclusive or territorial agreements between producers and distributors.
