Livestock and Poultry

Livestock and poultry activities encompass a range of products within the food supply chain, including beef production, poultry farming, aquaculture, and fisheries for food sourcing.

In the U.S., the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is the primary federal agency responsible for regulating commercial livestock and poultry practices while promoting agricultural trade and production. The USDA also works to ensure food safety and protect natural resources.

The USDA has several divisions overseeing different aspects of the food supply chain. Notably, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) inspects, protects, and promotes the health of livestock and poultry, regulates genetically engineered organisms, administers the Animal Welfare Act, and manages issues arising from non-compliance.

Prologos Law assists both domestic and international organizations involved in the development, production, and distribution of food products derived from livestock and poultry. We provide regulatory guidance and support in addressing and remediating enforcement issues.
