Antidumping/Countervailing Duties

Anti-dumping duties are taxes imposed on imported goods to offset the difference between their export price and their normal value if dumping is found to harm producers of competing products in the importing country. These duties aim to prevent foreign entities or individuals from selling products at less than fair value, which could negatively impact local competitors.

In contrast, countervailing duties are measures imposed by importing countries to counteract foreign government subsidies on a product. These duties help balance the market price effects caused by such subsidies.
