Agriculture
Agricultural activities encompass a wide range of products within the food supply chain. Some of the most heavily regulated areas include crops, genetically engineered plants, and forestry for food sourcing. In the U.S., the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is the primary federal agency responsible for regulating commercial farming practices, promoting agricultural trade and production, ensuring food safety, and protecting natural resources.
The USDA has several divisions overseeing various aspects of the food supply chain. Notably, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) inspects, protects, and promotes agricultural health; regulates genetically engineered organisms; administers the Animal Welfare Act; and manages wildlife damage.
Prologos Law assists both domestic and international organizations involved in the development, production, and distribution of food products and agricultural goods. We provide regulatory guidance and support in addressing and remediating enforcement issues.
